Gadgets and Gizmos
I love a good gimmick.
Exercise should be fun, but after a while workouts can become a bit boring and stale.
So when I want to keep things interesting the little kid in me pulls out one of my toys. BOSU ball squats are a fun alternative to a squatting on a flat floor. Resistance bands, doorway pull up bars and push up bars can liven up a dull workout.
Or to really have some fun you could dig out the old thigh master. Maybe you need to let your inner Chuck Norris out and bust out a total gym.
Fun is a great motivator.
Some gadgets are actually great fitness tools and the ones that aren’t are usually good for a laugh.
I use a GPS watch when I run. Being an old school kind of guy (too cheap to buy a new one) I use a 10-year-old Garmin forerunner 305.
It’s like me old and clunky and gets the job done. I love the instant feed back I get from it and I find it motivating to use.
As I journey away from the fat me to the new healthy me I will occasionally share when I pull a toy out of the toy box.
If anyone knows any fun fitness toys I would love to hear about it in the comments section.
Now if you will excuse me, my Ab Roller is calling.
