Blackberry Smoothie Recipe
I love blackberries and was lucky enough to find some fresh ones at the grocery store tonight.
As soon as I saw them I Immediately thought smoothie. I don’t know that there is a berry that is more suitable for blending into a smoothie.
Blackberries are loaded with vitamins c, A, E, K and the B vitamins. They are also loaded with antioxidants. The dark blue colour is a giveaway to how rich in antioxidants they are.

Blackberries are low in calories. They only have around 60 calories per cup. This means that you get lots of deliciousness and nutrition without blowing our daily calorie budget.
They can turn a smoothie into something beautiful. Their deep colour is enticing and visually they complement other fruits.
Of course, they also taste amazing. They pack so much flavor into such a little package.
Since blackberries have such a powerful flavor I like to keep my smoothies simple and try not to get too complicated.
Blackberry Smoothie Recipe.
In a blender blend:
1 cup blackberries – fresh are best but frozen will also work.
1 banana peeled
1 cup chilled almond milk – you can substitute Greek yogurt for a thicker smoothie but due to a dairy allergy I prefer to keep it vegan and use almond milk.
2 tablespoons of maple syrup
Depending on how I feel I sometimes add a serving of veggie protein powder to the smoothie.
If anyone tries this recipe please let me know what you think. I am always looking to improve my smoothies and am usually up for trying new flavours.
